My favourite Macarons (my personal fav is from Canele) ! Went for the baking class for macarons sometime back, I've finally master the courage to try out macarons which for my level, i think its the most difficult one to conquer as you have to ensure exactly the right proportion of ingredients, the exact temperature of boiling sugar & the look of the final product. As of all french pastries, it must look gorgeous. Hahaha.. as expected, the 1st attempt, i ended up with more or less the right taste but definitely the WRONG look. But hee.. for consolation, i still manage to have the 'legs' (see pic 1, the frilly trim below the crust is a MUST for a perfect macarons, they call it the legs of macarons which has a lacy french look isn't it?) But the dome round top is nowhere to be found. As my oven is too small, i have to wait before i can bake another set, i guess the waiting time dries the batter up & i ended up with cracked tops for the 2nd batch. Colour is also very wrong. Well.. never mind, will try again. My aim... ? See pic 3. D-day will come...
