After work, went to Holland v for great shopping ! Bought a bundt pan which i'm so excited about my upcoming new attempt on Apple-Cinnamon Bundt Cake this saturday ! As usual, I'll still go through every shelf in the store even though i can go straight to the trays & pans area. Shopping in baking stores is a great enjoyment for me. Hee i went home with the following & the following excuses :
* 1 x 2kg bag of UNbleached flour : Which i've finally managed to find at Jasons Market place in Tanglin mall. Unbleached version suppose to make the cookies more chewy !
* 1 x bundt tray : which is ESSENTIAL to create a bundt cake right ?!
* 2 bags x dark chocolate convertures : Can always make do with more chocolate chips !
* 1 bag x organic rolled oats : unplanned purchase but decided to include them in the cookies baked later in the night)
* 1 bag x whole hazelnuts : always good for cookies & biscotti ! can't find a reason not to buy them !)
* 3 x small christmas decor : hmm... since xmas is coming up & i think it will look good on my bundt cake ?!?
* 1 bottle x vanilla extract : the artificial type but well.. you need vanilla extract in a lot of recipes you know !
* 1 x 500g French unsalted butter : Definitely a necessity ! I'm not a rich tai tai (yet) hee.. so I'll use the cheaper Phoon Huat butter for recipes that has a lot of other strong flavoured ingredients. But for butter pound cakes for example, woo.... nice butter is definitely important !
* 1 bottle x PURE vanilla extract : Woo !! Have always been tempted to buy this collection of vanilla extract / essence / paste. They used REAL vanilla pods to extract the REAL stuff ! But its always sooo... expensive compared to a $1.50 per bottle supermarket artificial vanilla extract. Its usually about $29.90 per bottle !! But when i saw $10 off at Shermays' cooking school (where i got my butter), its hard to miss !! sometimes indulgence is good.. haha..will keep it for special bakes that requires a different level of vanilla fragrance.. woo... heaven...
So happily i went home !
Started baking at 10pm after baby goes to Zzz... bake bake bake ! Split the batter into 2 portions this time, 1 with usual choco chips & nuts, another with my organic rolled oats & raisins ! Hubby likes both ! He stays up till 2am (half the time trying not to doze off on the sofa) so he can taste the cookies freshly out of oven. Hee.. he says its to support me, hee.. but i think i'm supporting his stomach more ! Haha !
This is the best batch of cookies i've made so far ! Reserved a box of cookies for my great sisters meetup tonight !
