Hubby, me & baby had a family pinic to East Coast Park last weekend ! This is the 1st time me & hubby do a pinic !! (he had promised to bring me for pinic since our courtship days but only till THIS TIME that he really did it !)
With all that energy & excitment, we set off for our first family pinic. Drove to East Coast park, stopped at KFC to pack some food & finally found a suitable place to lay our mat. Happily we sat down with baby, start feeding baby her with whipped potato & both of us munched on our 2pc chicken...
and ...
OOPS ! We felt rain drops on our skin ! Its not those POURING rain, so we waited & see...hmm...the dark clouds are certainly coming our way... So hubby (being a natural leader) gave his instructions on how we should evacuate if it pours, "Dear, later you grab baby, the bag & take the umbrella. The rest (food & mat, no umbrella) leave it to me" (how man-ly that is, the hongkongers would say "Ho Man Wor..") So, we switched on our standby mode as we continue eating (so hungry !) Then, the moment had come. Its time to evacuate as we now felt more rain drops. Can you imagine what a funny sight it is to see this couple with a baby finding a spot for so long, finally sat down, brought the food out and all of a sudden, they grabbed all food, folded the mat & walked quickly off to the carpark. How comical we must have be ! Hahahaha.a.. we couldn't stop laughing at ourselves either !
(The funnier part comes after this)
So, we managed to make our escape to the car in time. As we drove off, we realised ..hmm.. the rain seemed to have stopped ! But hubby (being a strategic thinker again), decided we should drive to another spot where the car can be parked nearer to the pinic spot then we can make a faster escape this time round ! Hahaha... so after some drive, we finally set our mat (again !) When we looked up into the sky, we pride ourselves for leaving the dark clouds behind (though we did suspect at some point, the clouds are moving towards our direction !) Luckily this time round, we managed to polish off all our food and even had some time to play with baby Carrie. It's actually a blessing that we changed our pinic spot, as this 2nd area actually allowed Carrie to see aeroplane flying over our heads to Changi airport ! Hence that day she learnt a new word "plane" ( * big grin * so proud of her) So we enjoyed our little pinic for about 30 mins before we felt the winds getting stronger, the sky turning darker. Then we decided its really time to go home !
In the end, we ended up at Tampines IKEA for dinner (Carrie loved the meatballs & hated the pasta !) then we walked the store before heading home at about 9pm.
Hahahaaa... its truly a hectic day ! But i loved every bit of it !
Baby carrie asking why mummy keep forcing her to take photos !
