Let's continue from where I've stopped from my previous post on Japan trip. Its still the 1st day in Japan Osaka, yes the rainy first day (damn it). Anyway we visited China town (don't understand why everyone has to go to Chinatown in every country when we are suppose to go there to see other people's culture ?! Anyway Chinatown seemed to look the same everywhere !) And they all sell 'kong ba bao' (stewed pork in bun) ! It taste quite good ! The Japanese-chinese (according to tour guide, they are the 3rd generation Chinese who came over to stay in Japan, something like that) did up their 'Chinese stall' the usual Jap way, i.e. very eye pleasing as they like to display their products neatly and colour coordinated. Well done ! here's a pic.

Though its fake, i can't help being amazed by the efforts the Japanese put into making their bento sets. Look at the colours ! If i'm correct in my currency conversion, this set cost more than SGD 200 !

Kobe pudding - nice, smooth but too small a cup !

Shopping..oh well nothing much, prices are either comparable or more expensive. And you can get most of the Jap items in Singapore anyway.
But i do like their supermarkets ! I feel thats the best place to see how the people lived by looking at the type of food they eat, the type of daily necessities they used and of cos things are cheaper in supermarkets !
I bought okonomiyaki for lunch, dear bought some sushi and yakitori. And being packed lunch friendly Japan, they have a rest area in the supermarket (somewhat like a canteen with tables and chairs) where there's a microwave available for people to warm up the packed meals they bought, a water dispenser, a handwash basin for adult and another for kids and their recycling bins.
Oh ! There's also a closed up smoking room for smokers to eat their meals when they are smoking ! And of cos not forgetting the whole row of vending machines selling beverages and cigrarettes. And some lockers for shoppers. Well equipped !
My okonomiyaki and our can of coffee from the machines.

Carrie loves the vending machines ! keep asking us for coins else she won't leave !
A special escalator in the mall, its not totally straight up, it has a flat in the centre before it ascends again.
Their bubble tea kiosk has the Japanese style fake product samples displayed as well !
Kobe City - See the leaves all slowly turning yellow/red - autumn colours !
Kobe pudding - nice, smooth but too small a cup !
Hubby in front of a PEAR tree. For a moment we are all checking if the pears are real and yes they are ! Worth a photo !
Look out for next post to finish off the 1st night in Japan (oh gosh ! when am i going to finish the whole trip ! Cheer me on, i need that)
