Happy National Day 2010

Little Carrie dressed in Red and yes singlet as its simply too hot !

Whoever thought of the idea of bringing National day into the heartlands in 2010 is fantastic ! Its one of the best i've ever had. As we all know, getting tickets to the official parade is never easy. And for families with elderly and young, its a logistic nightmare just to move everyone in the family with the traffic jams, the crowd, the early hours that we have to be there etc.

For National day in 2010, we are lucky to have the celebration just at the open area in front of our block ! The organisers are wonderful in replicate the 'Love My Nation' mood in the little choa chu kang. We have Kym Ng in CCK and a huge screen to watch the national day parade. There are flags, light sticks given out for everyone there to wave them about.

We went downstairs pretty early to 'chope' good seats, its HOT HOT HOT. The family da bao macdonalds at the seats. Its sweaty hot but lovely family gathering. As the night falls, the weather is fantastic and the ambience is just simply great. We sang along with the traditional songs of 'Stand up for Singapore', 'Count on me Singapore' etc.

In the middle of the event, Carrie wanted toilet break and as i've said, its SOOOOOOO convenient ! I simply have to bring her upstairs ! But what i did not expect is the beautiful sight when i went up and look down at the crowd. In the night, when all light sticks are being waved in the air with the music, its a WOW, thats my CCK community ! Too bad, i didnt take a pic but the image always stays in my mind, its that beautiful.

After the national day parade, we are being surprised by fireworks ! yes right in CCK ! On top of the building next to Lot One. Wow ! And soon the army parade reached CCK (which is another fantastic idea of the 2010 organisers) and Carrie caught glimpse of army tankers, war vehicles etc. Wow Wow !

This is one of best National Day i've ever had ! Too bad there isn't any such this year but i really hope they will do it again !
