My little Samsui woman_16 Dec 2011

I have a proud moment to share. My little Carrie's graduation ceremony performance for her Nursery class ! She practiced real hard for this dance. Teacher commented that she's a very serious child and never ever said that she's tired or refuse to dance during practice. If there's steps she didnt do well, she will go home and practice till she can. Thats the spirit ! Even when we are out shopping, she will practice her dance steps at the side. I'm so proud of her !

On 16 Dec 2011, hubby and I went to attend the concert. We armed ourselves with 2 cameras and a tripod. There are in total about 5 dances performed by different classes. They started off with the graduation ceremony for the K2 kids. The kids dressed in graduation gown walked down the aisle and go up the stage one by one as their names are being announced. At the point, i told hubby that i think i will cry when its Carrie's turn in 2 years time. (I seriously think i will, be strong !)

Finally came the 3rd performance by little Carrie and her classmates. Its a samsui woman dance. Here's pics to share ! She look sooooo cute in the costume and face extremely round in the red hat. Love it !


Above is the starting pose. The standing 'samsui woman' said something like "Its a hot day, let's have a rest" and the rest of the girls will say "Thats a good idea!" Honestly i think Carrie did this the best. I can hear her loud and clear.


She's one of the tallest in class hence she had to stand at the back but the teacher did a nice job in choreographing the dance where they stood in such a way that we could still see her behind and she had a solely dance step at the later part of the dance where she came all the way to the front!

Here's her solo standing with one leg pose. She had to maintain for 8 beats. She practice real hard for this. Initially she came home saying she didn't dance well as she couldn't do this step (with disappointed look). I encouraged her by saying she can do it if she practice enough. And she practiced and practiced and tata... she did it

Here's her final pose. Its quite funny as she had to stay in this position while waiting for the curtain to close and she didn't move an inch ! Sheer determination!
