Clarice's first month basicially adopt a lifestyle that all adults envy which is EAT, BURP, SLEEP, EAT, BURP, SLEEP. And sadly i've read that their first 'smiles' are usually a work of passing a bubble of gas. While Clarice's life is simple in the first month, I do have a lot to adapt to. The confinement period which you can read about here. And basically just getting into the rhythm of taking care of a little baby all over again. I remember during night feeds, I literally had to make my eyes BIG BIG and moving the eye balls round and round just to keep my eyes open to stay awake as i do have several occasions in 'dropping' Clarice. Luckily my reflex action is good and i feed on bed. Phew..
Now my little Clarice is 2 months old! I've also more or less adapt to my new life and yes, i no longer have to make my eyes BIG BIG 'manually'. I am on auto gear and is able to wake up and feed with the cue from Clarice. I don't jump out of bed with every little whine from Clarice and am able to sleep through her minor 'coos' and 'woos'.
At this stage, she started 'talking' with her 'coos' 'woos''qoo' and she is all smiles. Nearly every time after she finishes her milk, she will give me a smile (yes, even with her eyes close), i interpret that as "thank you mummy !" Sweet, very sweet.
I bought her first book ! Wow actually books for infants is not cheap seriously. Babies' cloth book is all above $10, cheapest i saw is $12. I got mine at Mothercare as i really like the storyline and its colours! Its $18 ! I will read to her every morning after her bath time. From the no-expression to now smiles when i read to her, it is very satisfying. More books to come !
