Carrie turns Five !

She's FIVE ! The day i give birth to her 5 yrs ago on 11 Sep 2007, its a day i remembered all details from when my waterbag burst to calling doc and hubby, to eating mc big breakfast, to going to the hospital, to finally pushing her out. The memories in between are well documented by this blog and now she's FIVE?!? Half a decade. Its fast isnt it? From a timid little baby to now the non-stop talking little chilli padi, she has grown so much & so tall now. No longer a toddler but a little girl now.

 So we held a little party for her at the function room at our new place. Invited family & friends and importantly their kids ! there are 17 kids ! I think i've mentioned before. I made a little small promise to myself to bake Carrie's birthday cake every year. So far i've only skipped her 3rd birthday as hubby is in US and we don't really have a proper celebration. For her 5th party, I baked her a cupcakes' cake where i got the kids to decorate it up at the party !

I must admit i used a Betty crocker ready mix for the chocolate cake, not ready to try out new recipes for such an important day ! But i did the buttercream myself though :) Started baking past midnight (cos need to put kids to sleep and do housework etc) and only finish at 6am plus. Gotta bake the 50 cupcakes, do up the buttercream, roll and cut out the fondant flowers and Carrie's name and pack the stuff ready for the party. Really, when the motivation to do something is strong, you really dont need much sleep. Slept at 6am plus and guess what i woke up 8am plus to get ready for the birthday lunch. I've amazed myself !
