13 Dec (Thur)
Bones got broken when Carrie turned her body but as she is so near to a step that she lost her balance and fell on her side landing her body weight on her poor elbow. The force is so great that its a like a ruler bend to a level that it just broke. So off we rush to KKH A&E. According to mum, when Carrie fell she didnt even cry but got all pale. My mum had to encourage her to cry out if its painful and thats when Carrie started crying. Oh dear, she must have gotten quite a shock.
At the KKH when i met Carrie, she didnt cry too. My brave little one. Initially I thought its going to be a normal cast. But X-ray revealed that there are bone cracks, and bones are not aligned. She proposed a surgery. My heart jumped a beat. They hope to get us the operating theatre that night if there are no other more urgent emergencies. We got Carrie admitted. Well, trying to look at bright side, as Carrie had chicken pox she had to be isolated. So oh well, since we will get a single-bedded room anyway, we just sign up for Class C. Haha.. i joked to hubby that we got a presidential suite in Class C ward. A difficult part while waiting for op theatre is that Carrie isnt allowed to eat or even drink water. And considering her last meal is 10am in the morning, she had to tahan till she get into the op room. Poor girl, she said she's hungry but we can only distract her with ipad.
God bless, we were informed that an op theatre was available at 7pm. I insisted in going in with her until she doze off under general anaesthesia just to minimize her fears to the minimum. Throughout the whole journey while she got pushed into the theatre, I joked with her making everything as light as possible such as "wow, you get to see real doctors! (as in those in op theatres which she sees on )TV)" "nice wall picture (along the way)" "wow, you saw these op theatres lights in shows right?" and all along, i supressed my worries and anxiety. I can't let Carrie detect any fear in mummy else she will get more worried. Though she still smile at my comments, i can still see some fear in her eyes. Finally on the table where she started breathing in the anaesthetic medicine, she slowly fell into sleep. Seeing kid uncontrollably doze off for operation just breaks my heart and i know its better to let it out than to keep it all in, i let my tears run for a while outside the theatre. After a cry, i felt better and went to find hubby.
The operation is faster than i thought. About 40 mins later, she's done. For the night, as its a single bedded room, both me and hubby stayed to be with her. She slept most of the time, only waking for a few sips of milo and water.

Yeah, morning comes, doctor comes with good news that she is doing well and we can be discharged ! Just make sure to check for signs of infection. "Home Sweet Home (with a broken bone)", hmm.. somehow it rythms.
Anyway thereafter, its a week in cement cast and last friday 21 Dec, its changed into a fibre glass material which is lighter in weight and best, Carrie gets to select the colour ! She got herself a fuchia pink one !
