A hot milk after the swim... thats life.

Yes !! Baby carrie's first swim ! My sister-in-law has kindly offered to bring carrie (and of cos me as well) to CCK swimming complex as she's bringing her little boy there for their usual weekly swim. To be honest, I think i'm more nervous than carrie cos its the 1st time i'm bringing a baby for a swim ! What should i bring ? Milk ? Pampers ? Towel ? Clothes ? What about myself ? Where's my swimming costume ? Still fit ? Hahaha.. went through an exercise of questions before setting off.

After a short ride in the car, we reached our destination with Carrie having little clue of why we were there. Bought our tickets, 'chopped' our seats by the pool, changed into swimming costume & here in the water we go !

First time introducing the pool to baby is critical to me. Cos i've heard if babies do not have a pleasant 1st time experience, they might create a phobia to water & it will be even more difficult to teach them swimming in future. So as carefully as i can, i took it slow. Starting from dripping some water on her feet only, to letting her feet touched water surface, then slowly submerged her leg halfway in water. To distract her, I asked her to splash the water using her hands (which she already know from bathing time). And eventually she stood up in the water instead of sitting on my thigh. By not 'sticking' to me, i know she's happily comfortable in the water now. And she Likes IT ! Yeah ! She tried the float as well which she looked soooo cute in. I told her when daddy is back for holiday in August, she will go swimming with daddy !
