With so much baking lately, thought in-laws might want to try some chinese cooking ! But hee.. i still can't escape using flour. Made guo tie (chinese dumplings) today, yes, even the skin is made from scratch. The recipe i use is pretty good, it gives the right texture for the skin & the right taste for the filling. Hee only problem for me is that i stinge on the amount of flour to be used to prevent dumplings to 'join together' hence when i'm all ready to fry the individual dumpling, they are all stuck together on the plates ! That explains the weird funny shape for guo tie on the right picture. Looking at the failure on the nice dumpling shape. i just press them flat & just throw them into the work. Luckily, i have done some "chinese pizza" as well & they turn out better than the individual ones in terms of shape :)
