Yesterday bought a slice of papaya for baby carrie as a 'after dinner' fruit. Scrape it using her plastic spoon & feed it to her. Hee.. her wrinkled up forehead tells me she doesn't like it. Not giving up, I mix it with her favourite baby biscuits, thinking that the sweetness of the biscuit might distract her. In the end, she spits out the whole biscuit as well. Gosh.. mummy think think & think. Let her bite straight from the slice ! And she likes it that way ! She even shouted for more. Hahaha...so its the journey (the experience of biting fruits straight) she likes, not the destination (the fruit). When the slice gets smaller, i just let her little fingers do the work of feeding herself.
The last part of this episode is the best, i tested her by saying "ahhh..." with my mouth open, inviting her to put that piece of papaya into my mouth. Just trying my luck. And she understands that ! She really put it into my mouth !!! Still overwhelmed with pleasant surprise, I thought maybe I should just take a bite & let her finish the rest, i sink my teeth in & OOPS ! My top row of teeth bite into her little fingers !! Ouch !! I can see her eyes open big & she stops. Oops..but luckily i manage to withdraw my teeth fast so its not really painful for her.
I'M HAPPY COS MY BABY FEEDS HER MUMMY :)
