* Pickled mustard & duck soup
Cooking & Baking is really really different even though both involves slaving in the kitchen. For baking, you can kind of follow the recipe. But for cooking, can't really follow the recipe to the core. It depends on the sauce, ingredients that you are using. E.g. some beanpaste can be more salty than some brands. Hee thats what happens to the fish ! Add the correct quantity (2 tablespoon as indicated in the recipe book) but should have tasted the beanpaste first. Its too salty !! Super credits to my in-law family who still finish it all.
Tried another dish from my Chinese cooking recipe book - Pickled mustard cabbage duck soup. Lucky got maid to help me chop the duck, else there won't be this dish ! I hate dealing with raw whole poultry !! The taste ? - hmm.. the soup doesn't taste bad but still.. its far from ideal. Its not flavourful enough but yet i also don't know what i can do to make it better. Maybe its the fire that one has to control just like we need to control our oven temperature. Hee.. next time will be better.
And for dessert ? Chestnut & Gingko nut dessert ! Yummy !!
