Bye bye 2008. Come Come 2009 !

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !
Before we really start the race for 2009, lets do a review for Baby Carrie to see the adventures she had in 2008 (just need to sum up the year, before we embark on another :)

JAN 08 - Carrie @ 4 months old

* Hmm.... babies are suppose to be CHUBBY. So don't ask me why Carrie is soooooo CHUBBY ! hee hee... Jumbo baby.

Feb 08 - Carrie @ 5 months old

* Hmmm... she is still chubby. Her thighs always get stuck when you wanna pull her out of the jumbo chair. hee. Plus she look very boyish right ?

Mar 08 - Carrie @ 6 months old
* Manage to still find a pic of Carrie in the jumbo chair. She started eating porridge when she's 6 months old. & she loved it ! At this stage, we will put the porridge & ingredients into the blender to blend it into a smoothie kind of texture. I tasted her vegetable one...yewwww.. just makes your hair stand.

Apr 08 - Carrie @ 7 months old

* At this stage, she is better able to sit on her own. I've got a video of her in this sitting position happily doing 'kungfu'. Its still one of my favourite video. Its in my previous blog.

* She has budding front lower teeth on her gums. You can see the teeth trying to pop up ! Must be pretty painful for babies ? or at least itchy ?

* By holding her hands, she is able to sit up from a lying down position. And from a sitting position, she's able to stand up if you hold her hands. See previous blog for video !

May 08 - Carrie @ 8 months old

* Bought her 1st set of toothbrush & tooth paste. Started to brush her teeth for her. She didn't seem to like brushing teeth that much.

* She looked more girlish now right ?!

Jun 08 - Carrie @ 9 months old
* Hmm.. this particular month photo collection is pretty limited cos i think i didn't take a lot of photos this month. So no choice, have to post this pic of her just waking up with her hair all messy & not very cheery.

* She is able to sit in a roller chair but move backwards only. To babies, its more difficult to move forward in a roller chair. Much easier to push your feet forward & hence make yourself move backward in the chair. got it ?

* She likes to nod her head according to rhythm to the song ABC. See previous post video

July 08 - Carrie @ 10 months old
* She is able to messily feed herself with finger foods. Love seeing her eat. Soooo cuuuuutttteeee... & so focus.

* 1st swimming lesson ! I still remember i'm so uptight ! cos i didn't want to spoil the whole experience & caused her to have a phobia of water. But am glad everything went well & fun ! Bought her 1st swimming costume !

* She likes to play with remote controls

* Took a picture of her for her passport. She's now temporarily stuck with her picture of 10 months old.

* She is able to move roller chair FORWARD now

* Bought her first Water bottle with straw. She learnt how to drink from a water bottle instead of a milk bottle.

Aug 08 - Carrie @ 11 months old

* She likes to put the phone to her ear, pretending to be on the line.

*If you ask her to share, she understands & will most of the time unless there's only 1 pc of baby biscuit left.

* She can stand up from sitting on a chair with her own efforts.

* We celebrated Carrie's 1st birthday on Sun, 31 Aug. (her chinese lunar birthday) & i baked the birthday cake !

* She can walk from 1 point to another on her own if its a short distance but still not that stable.

Sep 08 - Carrie @ 1 year old !

* Yeah !! wOO hooo!! A milestone for me !

* She's still practising her walking everyday. Getting better everyday !

October - Carrie @ 1 yr & 1 month old

* She loved to make faces ! & booo... at people.

* Walks more steadily now but we still have to standby to catch her in case she falls

Nov 08 - Carrie @ 1 yr & 2 months old

* With daddy back home, more & more outings for her !

Dec 08 - Carrie @ 1 yr & 3 months old

* She's Daddy's girl. Loves to just call "pa pa" from afar for nothing (makes mummy jealous) & when daddy is just lying on the floor, she will go over to lie on his tummy (mummy jealous jealous) & then climb onto daddy to hug him (arrrggghhh !!)

* Walking skills ? Steady steady now. Just need to watch her from afar in case she reaches out for something dangerous. But if you shout "no no", she will pause, turn & look at you for a moment.

Baby Carrie is growing up so fast that sometimes i find it tough to catch up with her ! Everyday there's a new facial expression i've never seen before, her latest stunt that she hasn't display to anyone, a new word she will utter, etc etc etc. There's just so many things to discover in Baby Carrie.

For 2008, I'm glad that i have my trust worthy personal pink Sony camera to capture these beautiful moments, I'm relieved that I've started this blog to record all these happenings & to share with friends & family on her growth as everyone is busy & can't meet everyday. Am happy that Carrie has brought much joy to the family & especially for my grandma as every other grandchildren has grown up & she feels kind of lonely. Now there's baby carrie as her great grandchild to bring her the joy. Am so grateful for this journey of motherhood, I really enjoyed every bit of it & wouldn't trade it for anything else.

For me, 2008 is not much of a Up & Down year, its rather a peaceful one(i.e. no major UPs & DOWNs) but yet a challenging year for me as hubby is away most of the time & in this year, i took up many new different roles & responsibilties on my shoulders. Sometimes the burden does get heavy & suffocating, there are many tears hidden but am glad eventually I did emerged as a survivor of 2008. And am grateful that there are more happy moments than the tough ones.

For 2009, I have no plans yet, no new year's resolution as always. I'll see where the wind blows. But there are somethings I would definitely do for sure.
